3 D alkeita /3 D basics

Et koskaan tunne toista ihmistä täysin, vai mitä?

Siskokin yllätti minut iloisesti, sillä kaikkien viikonlopun projektien tiimoilta törmäsin aarrelaatikkoon, jossa oli korttimateriaaleja.

Näin ollen hyvän tovin sunnuntaita, sillä aikaa kun sisko kasasi tyynyjäni, askartelin elämäni ekat 3-D kortit. Tämä(kin)(hän) oli kivaa! Luulenpa, että jossain tilanteessa hankin matskuja itsellekin, onhan noita synttäreitä jne, joihin voi kortin laittaa.

While we were doing our creative works during the weekend, I found from my sister's treasury (work room) a box full of materials for card making.

So, while she was completing the sewing of the pillows for me, I tried out my first ever 3D cards.

(Even)(also) this was fun! So, don't be surprised to find me in handcraft material shop buying materials in the future. After all, most people have a birthday or so, and it is nice to remember with a handmade card.

Eli toinen tämän kerran projekti oli tehdä pari sisustustyynyä, 70 x 70 cm käyttäen halki-poikki-pinoon tekniikkaa.

Lauantai-iltana aika hurahti siivillä, ei ehditty edes saunaan. Itse seisoin monta tuntia leikkaamassa paloja, naapuri sovitti yhteen ja sisko ompeli.

My sister makes quilting, my sister's neighbour makes quilting => I am just learning some basic tricks on quilting.

Thus, another project was a quilting work, i.e. we created two 70 by 70 cm pillows using a technique where you start with a big squares and make them into pieces, as you go.

Time flew on Saturday night into until late midnight (no time for sauna at all) when I was cutting the pieces, neighbour put pins to them and composed then into squares and my sister sewed them.

We finally finished them on Sunday, great teamwork and the results you can admire in the pictures.

Unelmien aarrekartta /Treasury map for your dreams

Olen esikesälomalla siskon luona. Tämä on aina hienoa, sillä kaksi käsillään askartelijaa aina keksii tuhat projektia, joilla aika lentää kuin siivillä.

Tämän kertainen hassutus on henkilökohtaisen aarrekartan tekeminen. Aarrekartasta ja sen ideasta löydät tietoa esim. http://www.namaste.fi/ :stä. Siellä on kaikkea muutakin kivaa itsensä kehittämisen osalta tai itsensä tuntemisen osalta.

Aarrekartta-idea perustuu lyhyesti ajatukseen (tämä on mun tulkinta), että jos annat unelmille visuaalisaation ja yleensäkin luvan itsellesi uneksia, niin mielesi alkaa työstää niitä unelmia lähes alitajuisesti eteenpäin. Monet, jotka ovat karttansa tehneet, ovat huomanneet, että moni unelma on toteutunut.

Tähän mennessä kartan teosta voin sanoa, että tuli hyvä mieli huomatessa, että niitä unelmiahan on vaikka kuinka paljon. Eli ei tämä elämä olekaan vielä eletty.

Sisko sai vielä hyvän idean, että kun se kartta pitäisi esittää sitten jollekin, niin videoidaan se esitys myöhempää käyttöä varten. Eli jälleen yksi projekti tuo videointi ja sen jälkikäsittely. (Nyt se taistelee tuossa sen videon kanssa, ja kokeilee miten se taas toimikaan...)

I am visiting my sister in the north of Finland. When two people with handicraft interest meet, there is no question of empty time to waste.

This time one waste of time is creating your own dream treasury map. It is a method to visualise your dreams on bigger piece of paper with glueing pictures and texts and whatever photos you want to put there. People who have allowed themselves to dream and have created this type of map, have noticed several of their dreams have come true.

From experience of doing a one, I can tell, that I realised myself to have still very many dreams. I felt good to notice that I have many times ahead to enjoy my life!

My sister got a further idea to shoot a video on the presenting of each one's maps. Again another little project with editing and doing! (Now she is checking the video how ot works and so...)

Opin tässä viikonloppunan taas nöyryyttä. Siis että sitä mulla ei tahdo oikein olla.

Vääntelin ja kääntelin sormuksia. Tosin oli taas hiukan vääränlaista materiaalia eli liian paksua hopealankaa eli oli hankala saada tiukkaa ja siistiä.

Mutta opin perusperiaatteen, vaikka lopputulos ehkä hiukan hellyttävä. Kivikin on niin iso.

I learned humbleness this weekend. Or that I don't have it.

I tried out new ring techniques. But since I did not have the right size silver thread, it was difficult to obtain nice quality work.

Here is one example, quite charming :-(, but I learned the basic idea.

Mikä onni, sataa!!! /What a lucky day, it rains

Viikonlopun sade on parasta mitä tiedän.

Ei tarvi tuntea huonoa omaatuntoa, kun käpertyy koruntekoon omiin hoteisiinsa ja ei näytä juuri nenäänsä ulkona, paitsi mitä avoimesta ovesta näkyy tai ikkunasta.

Ei tarvi myöskään viettää aikaansa kasveja kastelemassa, kun luoja suo antimiaan taivaan täydeltä.

Aloitin reteesti sivoamaan ylilevinnyttä työpöytää, mutta tuskin edes sain raivattua pienen työtilan siihen, kun nostin siihen aimo kasan helmiä ja metallilankaa.

Tuloksena yhden kokopäivän työn ja hiukan toista syntyi korusetti "Onnen päivät", erityisesti onneen viittaa tietysti taikauskoisesti neliapila.

Rain during the weekend is almost the best I know!

No need to feel bad about not going outside, but just sit inside crafting some jewellery.

Also no need to water the garden plants, as the creator is taking care of that in plentious manner.

I started with the intent of clearing my worktable, only by ending up with more beads and metalwire on table for the project.

After one whole day and little bit of another, I got finalised a set called "Lucky Days", name stemming basically from luckbringing fourleaf clover.

Toisen iltapäivän helmikohteenani oli Starr Gems (W. Drachmann Street) eli verkkokauppana http://www.silversupplies.com/ /The second day hobby target was the Starr Gems at W.Drachmann.

Se olikin oikea harrastajan toivepaikka, ainakin työkalujen suhteen. Hyllyt notkuivat mitä ihmeellisempiä työkaluja. /It was really a dream come true for hobbyist, at least from tools selection point-of-view.

Isokokoiselle euro-ostajalle kesäalet Ameriikan ihmemaassa ovat todella onnenkantamoinen!Niinpä saunakuumassa (101 Fahrenheit) erämaassa päivä vierähtää kuin siivillä ilmastoiduissa ostosparatiiseissä.

Helmihullu nauttii täälläkin mm. A Beaucoup Conge -kaupasta (Ft. Lowell Street), jossa sain hypistellä ja ihastella kaikkea kivaa harrastukseen liittyen. Kauppa on hauskan sininen, ja isossa kyltissä lukee "BEADS OPEN", joten eilenkin täydessä jetlagissa piti tehdä U-käännös kaupan ensivilkaisuun.

For a big -sized Euro shopper, the summer sales are a true finding in America! So in scorching sun it is pleasant to shop in airconditioned shopping malls.

Bead enthusiast enjoys also here among other e.g. "A Beacoup Conge" shop in Ft. Lowell Street, where I could put my fingers on many beautiful things related to the hobby. The shop is easy to dind due to its bright blue color and the sign with big letters "BEADS OPEN". Even in my very bjetlagged conditions I needed to do a U-turn yesterday just to have the first glimpse.

Tänään sitten vähän vakavammalla otteella hankin juttuja.

Today I managed to do some serious bead shopping.

Vähän aikaa lepäilyä hotellissa ja sitten illalliselle. Huomenna onkin taas jo arki työnteossa (täälläkin)!

Now some relaxation at the hotel and then dinner. Tomorrow will be a working day also here!

Tässä on inspiraationi lähde. Näkymä ikkunasta on järvelle.

Parasta työtilassani on, että sen voi jättää juuri siihen malliin kuin itse haluaa. Eli sen myötä työpöytä onkin kuin kaaoksen jäljiltä. Mutta toisaalta se ruokkii inspiraatiota, kun on monta erilaista materiaalia ja helmeä silmä ulottuvilla.

Ei ole yksi eikä kaksikaan kertaa, kun olen aikonutt tehdä yhtä työtä, mutta sitten pöydältä tarttuu käteen jotain ihan muuta.

Se on makea tunne tuo flow eli työn imu.

This is the source of my inspiration. The view to the lake crowns it all.

The best thing about my workspace is that I can leave exactly in the order I want to be. Thus, the worktable is also like a chaos. But hten, it actually feeds the inspiration, when you have several unrelated things at hands.

It is not once or even twice that I have set myself to do a project, but end up with totally different final result as something got my attention from the table.

This is nice feeling, this flow.

Puutarhan hoidon lomassa oli aikaa väännellä metallilankaa. Harjoittelin ekaksi perusmallilla, kuvassa on jo sen muunnelma.

Tämän tapainen työtekniikka on tosi kivaa. Siinä saa ähkiä ja puhkia eli joutuu todella paneutumaan aiheeseen. Lisäksi joutuu nöyrtymään, kun materiaali ei tottelekaan sinua. Itse malli on logiikaltaan yksinkertainen, mutta monta kertaa olisin tarvinnut neljäkin kättä.

In between gardening chores, I had some time to try out wire wrapping works. At first I tried out with basic model, in the picture this is already the variation of the theme.

This type of technique is actually very relaxing. You need to try and err several times, and actually you need get humble rewrapping and retwisting for perfect results. The actual model was very simple as idea, but in some cases I would have neede even four hands.
