Good basic book for bead-a-holics. The main technique to be used is stringing. As often, tehre are several pages about the the "basics", thus, you can start this hobby from scratch with ths book. Shows the variety of beads that there are, thus giving a inspiration. Level beginners.

Hyvä peruskirja helmihulluille. Päätekniikka on pujottelu Kuten tavallisesti, kirjan alussa on perstekniikat osio, joten kirja sopii ihan vasta-alkajallekin. Kirjan projekteissa on käytetty hyvin erinäköisiä helmiä, joten saat käsityksen kaikista kauniista mahdollisuuksista mitä on. Sopii aloittelijalle.
2) M.T.Ryan : Beaded Jewelry
Includes also some elementary wire works, linking loops, basic wire wrapping. What is good here is that there are different types of jewellery presented: bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings, thus you get a good overviews of how to do different pieces, and can continue on your own from this. Beginners level.

Quite much the same as the number 1), basic instructions plus a variety of projects for beginners. Good book to glance through, but not much more. Still there are so manymany beautiful beads.....So number 1 or 3 for beginners inspiration.

Tää on hiukan samaa kuin 1), eli perusohjeita ja aloittelijan projekteja.Mutta ok kirja selailuun, sillä se esittää taas niiiin ihania helmiä. Eipä paljon muuta, eli 1) tai 3) aloittelijan kirjakasaan inspiraatioksi.
4) Marlene Blessing & Jamie Hogsett: Create jewelry /Pearls, Luxurious designs to make and wear
If you drool over sweet water pearls, then this is a book for you. Includes very basic projects in addition to some historical review "a pearls story". Now that I checked, the book also has some more advanced projects like "Chain reaction" and "Center of Attention" that combine silver nicely with pearls thus giving the hobbyist change to exercise her/his silversmithing skills as well. I think that I will try out those is due time. Level beginner-intermediate.

Jos kuolaat makeanveden helmien suuntaan, niin tässä sinulle kirja. Tavallisten projektien lisäksi kirjassa on tarinaa helmistä ja niiden historiasta. Nyt kun silmäilin, niin huomaan, että projektien joukossa on muutama edstyneempikin projekti inspiraatioksi. Luulenpa, että kokeilen mm. "Chain reaction" tai "Center of Attention" projekteja, joissa pääsee yhdistämään hopeaseppäilyä ihan runsain mitoin helmien kanssa. Taso aloittelija- edistyneempi.
5) Nicola Hurst: Step-by-step: jewelry workshop
Book, which I am studying right now. Includes basic silversmithing techniques on hobbyist level, i.e. things presented are ones you can do at home type workshops. The book introduces basic techniques and after presenting few, it always has a project example where you can exercise the presented technique. Projects as such are quite modern looking and I believe many will like them as such. Very illustrative and good instructions. Level intermediary.

Kirja, jota juuri käyn läpi. Täällä on perushopeaseppätekniikoita esitettynä siten, että ne on tehtävissä harrastajan tiloissa kotiolosuhteissa. Aina muutaman tekniikan jälkeen on projekti, jossa voi kokeilla esitettyjä tapoja. Projektit sinänsä ovat kivoja ja moderneja, joten ihan sellaisenaan varmaan viehättävät monia. Hyvät ja selkeät ohjeet. Taso: edistyneemmälle.
6) Linda Chandler & Choristine Ritchey: Wire Wrapping (Jewelry Studio)
This is a book from which I got the idea of starting to experiment with silver or metals in general. This books present the cold connections, i.e. you do not need to solder anything. It is enough to be able to cut wire and use it in wrapping. Thus, this is the forst step to new techniques from stringing and gives you quite a new look to your jewelry already. I have done some pieces based on these tehcniques and surprise, some of those are my favorites to wear. Very good book to get the basics from wher you can advance to own desgns easily. Level: beginner-intermediary.

Tämän kirjan innoittamana aloittelin metallityöskentelyjä. Kirja esittää ns. kylmät liitokset eli et tarvi juottaa mitään. Tarvii ainoastaan pystyä leikkaamaan metallilankaa ja kietomaan sitä erilaisiin liitoksiin. Näin ollen tämä on ehdottomasti hyvä aloittelukirja, jos tulella leikkiminen pelottaa. Kuitenkin tällä tekniikalla laajentaa peruspujotteluja ja saa aikaan ihan uudentyylisiä koruja. Minulla yksi suosikeistani on rannekoru, jonka tein täältä saamani inspiraation pohjalta. Taso: aloittelija- edistyneempi.
7) Complete guide to making Wire Jewelry (ART Jewelry Books) (no author, I gues collection of articles?, ei ole kirjailijan nimeä, olisiko kokoelma artikkeleja??)
Little bit over promising name, but anyhow a good book for advancing with wire wrapping. Also some chainmaille projects are presented. This book is little bit of this and little bit of that, but it has some nice projects. I would not recommend as the first wire wrapping book, rather more as an inspirational review for your own designs. I have done few pieces based on this books projects and will do some from here as I am advancing to more silversmithing. Level: Intermediary- advanced.

Vähän ehkä ylilupaava nimi, mutta ihan hyvä kirja edistyneemmälle metallikoruilijalle. Täällä on myös hiukan ketjuista. Vähän sekava kirja sisältäen hiukan sitä ja hiukan tätä. En suosittelisi ihan ekaksi metalli/hopeakirjaksi, mutta projektit ovat ihan kelvollisia inspiraation pohjaksi. Olenkin tehnyt muutamia täältä ja varmaan teen lisää, kun taidot karttuu. Taso: edistyneempi - osaava.
8) Sharilyn Miller: Bead on wire: making handcrafted wire and beaded jewelry
If you have ever wondered how to do certain things like basic hooks, clasps, linked beads, twisted wire, caged beads etc. it is all here! Now that I glanced through this book, I noticed that I have tried almost everything in this book. So maybe it tells, how good and basic reference book this is! I would recommend this, especially if you want to add the level of selfmade things in your jewelry. Clear instructions and step-by-step pictures on how-to-do. Well worth the money spent. Level: beginner-advanced.

Kun katselin tätä tässä ja nyt, niin huomaan, että olen kokeillut lähes kaikkia tapoja. Ehkä se kertoo tämän kirjan perusluonteesta ja siitä, että tämä on hyvä referenssikirja, kun haluaa lisätä oman itsensä tekemää osuutta koruissaan, Selkeät ohjeet ja kohta-kohdalta kuvat neuvovat eteenpäin. Hyvin käytetyn rahan arvoinen kirja. Taso: aloittelija- edistuneempi.
9) Cynthia B. Wuller: Inspired Wire
If you like the looks created by thing-a-majig, then this is a book for you. There are some basic instructions, but somehow the projects have left me cold. There are some that I could try, but so far this is a book too special style, so it is ether you like it or then you don't. I think the pieces will look good on young people. "Specialist book". Skill level: beginner-intermediary.

10) Jeanne Rhodes-Moen: Silver Threads, making filigree jewelry (thanks Annuli for the reference on this book!!)
If you want to exercise with soldering and you are a romantic in nature, this is the book for you. My recent purchase which I have just been reading, but I am sure that this will be one of the cornerstones in my jewelry library. One theme is the book is now to do basic elements in filigree, which you then can combine into your own designs. I find the approach very enticing, because the most satisfaction in doing your own jewelry comes from not directly from copying an piece but that you have put something of your own into the design. Level: advanced.

Tässä kirja, jos haluat harjoitella juottotaitojasi ja tykkäät romanttisista tyyleistä. Viimeisimpiä ostoksiani, jota olen vasta ehtinyt vain ihastella, mutta uskon, että tästä tulee yksi peruskirja korutekniikkakirjastossani. Yksi perusteema on, että kirjoittaja esittää peruskuviot, joilla voi sitten tehdä erilaisia koruja. Minusta tämä on hieno tapa, sillä se antaa mahdollisuuden käyttää tekniikoita omiin juttuihin, mikä mielestäni on kaikkein kivointa koko hommassa. Kirja on edistyneemmälle ja osaavalle tekijälle.
11) Joanna Gollberg: The art & cratf of making jewelry: A complete guide to essential techniques
This is a jewel itself! The book for very advanced hobbyist and even for a professional. No way a book to my skill level, but clearly an inspiration on where I can be after completing all the things in the books just reviewd (haha?). No, seriously, this book has so many beautiful things and explanations on tehcniques. This book does not proceed on projects but rather presents techniques and then several pieces as illustrations on what you can achieve. Basic bible on where you would like to be after few years of practising this art. Level: very advanced. Inspiration for others :-)

Todellinen löytö ja koru itsessään tämä kirja! Tasoltaan kirja on selkeästi pitemmälle edistyneemmälle harrastajalle ja jopa ammattilaiselle. Ei siis missään tapauksessa omalle tasolleni, mutta kirja toimii hyvin inspiraationa sille, missä voin olla itse muutaman vuoden päästä, erityisesti jos teen kaikki jutut noista aiemmista kirjoista (haha?). Kirja ei esittele projekteja, vaan etenee tekniikoittain ja täällä on paljon erikoisia asioita. Tekniikoiden kohdalla on mys esitetty miten tehdään ja lisäksi on kuvia erilaisista koruista, joissa ko. tekniikkaa on hyödynnetty. Todellinen inspiraation lähde erittäin edistyneelleharrastajalle, meille muille tavoitteellinen päiväunelma :-)
